An immersive, dancing film that documents the textures and physicality of a local contra dance.

In a sea of blended reds and blues, flowing skirts and name tagged button downs, under hands, over moving feet, and into the arms of the dancers, this film takes you everywhere. Co-director Sadie Hammarhead and I utilized GoPro’s strapped to dancers’ chests and legs, capturing snippets of conversation between partners and humming along to the music.
